Ten pounds to lose, no time, tired, blah

OP, I second the PP upthread who said be kind to yourself. You have created two children, you are taking care of their endless needs, and you are sleep deprived. Plus you are still probably a reasonably thin woman, given your weight. You are doing awesome. Can you just accept yourself for a bit, work on the kids' sleep, and schedule the weight loss for 6 months from now? If it is impacting your health or if you really feel badly about yourself you can certainly loose the weight, but maybe give yourself a little grace and wait.

Another one who used ww to lose the last 10 pounds. The best part is that I never felt like I was depriving myself.

I weigh 152 and I love my body!

Hell yes! Why not? Those last 10 were much harder for me than any amount of weight I'd previously had to lose. My SIL did the same.

Yeah, these 10 lbs are glued on me. It blows. OK, WW it is.

For people who cut out/reduce carbs, what do you do re: fruit? I've tried low/no carb diets and while I do not at all miss bread/rice/potato etc., and can live without dessert, I miss fruit. And I think it's unhealthy to cut them out completely. But the thing is, they do have sugar, lots of sugar. What do you guys think?

A lot of people hold on to a little extra weight until they stop nursing. Honestly I wouldn't make any effort to lose it until after you stop because it might all be in vain. Then, myfitnesspal.com and the app are great. You can do a lot just by paying close attention to your diet.

The fiber helps. That's why fruit is fine but juice isn't. Juice is a pure shot of fructose.

I want to do this, but my weakness is bread. How are you handling that?

I am not the pp, but when I first cut the carbs I had a lot of cravings. They all went away within a week but the first three days were tough.

I am the PP above and I agree with the withdrawal. I also gave up dairy and caffeine at the same time. First few days/week were rough with headache and cravings.

Re: bread. Some people would say I cheated, I will say I survived - but I made paleo muffins with coconut flour. I make a dozen muffins at the beginning of the week (banana and cranberry mostly) and, even though they were small, it was still similar enough to what I was used to to help me get through the urge. I just needed something to go with my tea in the morning.

For me it was easier to give up everything at once and go all in than try to cut back here and there.

And, this may be very vain of me, but I have an AMAZING pair of white pants that I used to wear before my two kids. My goal is to wear them on Mother's Day. I want my old a$$ back.

I just read the thread on office lunch time workouts and it has inspired me to give that a shot next week!

I cut down on fruit selectively, much less apple or banana, more berries. If you miss it, then I think it needs to be included and accommodated into your life in some way. I wouldn't eat it on an empty stomach due to bllood sugar spike, but eating a sugary fruit after lunch or dinner would soften that.

4-6 weeks of Atkins will take care of that. You can even skip induction if you like.

I got the stomach flu last week. It was hell, but I lost 5 pounds. 12 weeks post partum, and 5 more to go.
