delay or cancelled school tomorrow?

The high school kids are probably the most impacted by the delay, because it means they'll be going to school in the daylight instead of the dark.

I doubt MCPS would close, but Starr took a lot of heat when he opened on time during the last deep freeze.

I don't recall this. I recall Fairfax getting a lot of heat for closing.

Fairfax took a lot of heat for being closed 3 days last week. I think nearly all the school districts in VA were closed on 1/7 due to the cold. MCPS opened on time. I think others in MD had a 2-hour delay, but not a closure.

Starr took a TON of heat on 1/7 saying it wasn't appropriate to open.

People just aren't going to be happy no matter what you do.

MCPS should follow the example it set earlier this month and open on time. But who knows what they'll do.

there are no snow days left.

we've used four days and there are five allowed. last Tuesday was already closed for a professional day so I don't think that day counts.

Delays don't count against us.

Yes, we have used 4 days. However, read the MCPS Calendar. It only allows for 4. http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/info/calendars/

IF SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED... THE SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE EXTENDED BY...
5 days one day to June 13, 2014
6 days two days to June 13 and 16, 2014
7 days three days to June 13, 16, and 17, 2014
8 days four days to June 13, 16, 17, and 18, 2014
9 days five days to June 13, 16, 17, 18, and 19, 2014

Have you seen how HEAVILY salted the roads are this year. Not gonna happen.

Salt doesn't work below 15 degrees F. Our school follows Alexandria and has already posted that if Alexandria delays two hours, our private will too.

Since there isn't any precipitation called for until Saturday, I don't think this is an issue.

It's just cold.
