I think that the county has only one testing window per school year (which is in the fall), so if you want your child screened for 3rd grade entry, you will need to pay for the test. Someone will, of course, correct me if I'm wrong!

Or agree with you if you're right - which you are. Unless the OP pays for her own testing, she has to wait for the testing window in the fall.
