| One of our standbys is a recipe my mom used to make called quick skillet stew. Take tablespoon or two of oil and saute 1/2 an onion, chopped and 1 lb ground beef until browned then drain of excess fat. Add in 2/3 cup water, a 10 oz bag of frozen mixed vegetables, 1 8 oz can of tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and dried thyme. Bring to a boil. Mix up 1 cup of bisquick with 6 tablespoon milk until blended (I used TJ's mulitgrain pancake/biscuit mix). Drop biscuit mix on top of the beef and veggies making 5 or 6 mounds. Lower the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes. Then pour 1 more 8 oz can of tomato sauce over the mix, cover and cook for 12 minutes. My kids love it. |

Sounds weird, but great. Family recipe!
1) Sautee crumbled ground beef in a pan on stove top. 2) Boil mini or medium pasta shells. 3) Toss cooked ground beef and shells together. 4) Add ketchup and garlic salt to the mixture. 5) Toss again until all ingredients are integrated. 6) Serve in a bowl and enjoy! Wow- I just searched a bit and remembered porcupine meatballs- it's fun since rice is in the meatballs (hence porcupine). I found this one but check out others- I am going to try this for my family (I made it when I was single).
