Offered Interview then Cancelled?

You don't know that it was their loss, and your petulant attitude reinforces the impression that in fact it wasn't.

There are all these young people (Indian law school student, below median law school student, paralegal or two etc) that think the world of themselves (based on no accomplishments whatsoever) and think they are entitled to comfortable lives and doing interesting stuff. It's quite amazing to watch.

I guess they are willing to take their chance on this. Also, I agree with PP - I would not have burned that bridge with that comment you made about it being their loss. Because now, they will not be calling you back, even if for some reason their perfect candidate doesn't work out. I know rejection sucks, but you have to be more judicious about what you say to prospective employers.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to work there. I agree that interviewing is a pain and that employers don't have time to interview everyone. But they already scheduled an interview. Common courtesy and good business practice is to finish out the interviews you have scheduled before extending an offer.

If they had already extended an offer and were waiting to here back, they should have waited to schedule your interview. No, it isn't common practice for companies to continue to SCHEDULE interviews when they've already made an offer.

It sounds, frankly, like a poorly managed office.

Just move on.

What gives? I'm still salty about the rescinded interview. It's basically like I didn't even get a chance.

OP ignore this poster. You were given a lesson that the hiring process isn't always fair. I know it burns now, but try to view this as an opportunity to find something better.
