I guess they are willing to take their chance on this.  Also, I agree with PP - I would not have burned that bridge with that comment you made about it being their loss.  Because now, they will not be calling you back, even if for some reason their perfect candidate doesn't work out.  I know rejection sucks, but you have to be more judicious about what you say to prospective employers.[/quote]

I wouldn't worry, OP, about burning the bridge.

Frankly, I wouldn't want to work there.  I agree that interviewing is a pain and that employers don't have time to interview everyone.  But they already scheduled an interview.  Common courtesy and good business practice is to finish out the interviews you have scheduled before extending an offer.

If they had already extended an offer and were waiting to here back, they should have waited to schedule your interview.   No, it isn't common practice for companies to continue to SCHEDULE interviews when they've already made an offer.

It sounds, frankly, like a poorly managed office.
