Since clearly a dr is not involved..perhaps OP just has a general skin infection that you can get from shaving or another nick. I would put hot compresses on in regularly through the day..eventually pus should come out and the wound should resolve. I have had these and my Dr said to call if the redness gets larger and streaky or if you run a fever.

I agree OP should see a doctor (how do you know it's staph?), but are all of you unaware that for some antibiotic resistant infections, medical grade honey and silver are now being used as last resorts in the hospital?

For some antibiotic resistant infections, people are losing their arms and legs. And their lives.

Yes, I'm aware. That's why they're trying some other therapies. And you do know that most of the time we get staph infections, it's a pretty simple infection that our bodies fight off pretty effectively.

Silver is not a last resort. It's been and continues to be first line treatment for burns. External use only, unfortunately as other PP's have noted.

My friend's son was in the hospital for a week with a resistant strain.
