i'm late 30's and usually date women 23-25.

women in their 20's these days are really in a bad spot due to the economy - the men in their cohort are really having problems getting started in their careers. and are thusly unappealing.

couple that with the complete pussification of the american male born after 1980 or so and the trend will continue.

there is less and less stigma, if there ever really was one, regarding 10-15 year age differences in young(er) adults.

its a natural defense mechanism. your younger more attractive competition is stealing your men.

All men want to have sex with women who are closest to their physical primes...ie. 22-28 or so..and 28 is pushing it. and 22 is probably too high of a bottom end of the range.

If the men say they dont its just a defense mechanism to help them feel better about not being able to.

put a 40 year old man alone in a room with a 22 year old woman who wants to fuck him, and i assure you that tight skin and supple body will become pretty damn attractive pretty damn quickly.

Put a 22yo man in a room with a 40yo woman who wants to fuck him and he will go for it. Men generally find most women "fuckable". Men like 12:21 are precisely why older men are unattractive. If I'm going to go for a shallow man, I'd rather the younger model. At least he has an excuse.

10 year difference isn't really that big of a deal. ideal is probably 4-5 year difference (man older) due to maturity issues. many 25 year old women will list their online dating ranges up to 35, so they are willing to go 10 years older too. Once you go past 10 years older then it gets where the guy has to offer something special.

I'm guessing most of the posters here, especially the insulting ones, are well under 40.

40+ women don't worry about "competition" from younger women and we don't worry too much about age at all. Also, clue stick, many of us don't want to get married and have babies.

One of the very best things about sex and dating over 40 is that it isn't such a drama anymore. There are available partners both older and younger and all of them have their advantages and disadvantages. All in all, it is fun, flexible, and free of all the petty nonsense posted here.

And, if you do want to get married or be in a relationship, that's not some impossible task in the real world.

You seem balanced, but what's with the hatred and vitriol for older men on this board? I'm assuming it comes from 40ish women, but it's really off-putting. Do you have friends that think like this? I don't see men with the same hatred and vitriol for older women. We love grandma, even though we don't want to date her. Lots of women on this board with ISSUES.
