What won't or can't you wear anymore

OP (the brand, not the one in the thread) corduroy shorts from the 80s.

My mom is 63, reasonably fit and fashionable, and rocks most of these looks.

Yawn. These "rules" are stone aged.

No bikini bottoms. (I'll wear surf shorts and a bikini top at the beach sometimes.)
No low-rise jeans.

I'm 48 and slender but nonetheless getting saggy in places.

I don't understand why you can't or won't wear high heels anymore. I generally try to avoid them because they hurt and seem silly. But if I was a high heel wearer, I don't think I would suddenly stop at 48. Is it health, or do you feel you are "too old" to pull them off? My mother wears high heels on dressy occassions all the time at 60. So do all of her friends.

I reluctantly just put some twirly skirts from Old Navy in the charity pile. It was the first time I'd given up a style not because my body had changed but because it just didn't look right anymore.

I can't wear heels any more; they hurt too much.

High heels are beautiful, but a solid case of planar fasciitis will stop you from wearing them OUCH.

They're not 'rules for the masses,' stupid. Re-read the question. Notice the word "you."

I have nice legs so I don't see anything wrong with wearing skirts right above the knee (not mid thigh). I wear them with black tights and mid heeled black pumps. I hope it looks appropriate. If you don't wear tights with skirts what do you wear? My impression is that pantyhose is out and in the winter it's too cold for bare legs. Of course I'd never wear colored tights (maybe brown). I no longer wear mini skirts, bikinis and I try to stay away from too tight shirts.

I'm a lifetime athlete and have great toned arms and legs, so I wear sleeveless and at the knee skirts happily. But, nothing tight, nothing that bares the midriff, no miniskirts, and no visible bra straps. Also no super high/platform heels, and never Uggs. Rarely wear skinny jeans, except with boots. Also no thin cheap fabrics.

No styles that were popular when I was a teen.

Are you kidding me? I would never judge people on what they wear. I love seeing older women who have it together. What I try not to do myself is look silly and wear something that looks silly on me. The recent go go boots with shorts trend? No thanks.

I have seen a 70+ women with perfect legs rock the 6" heels with mini. I kid you not. I still remember this years later. Everyone in the mall was saying how striking she was. She was so cute, walking arm in arm with her husband (or boyfriend, or whatever, they were cute!).

Wouldn't wear a mini-skirt due to the cottage cheese on my thighs but other than that nothing much has changed -- but that's in part because I didn't wear anything that wild when I was young. And I'm in good shape these days - thanks to the kid being in college and having more time!

Anyway low-rise (or hip huggers as we called them) didn't fit me back in the day and they don't fit me today so I never wear/wore them and I thank God they are starting to go back out of style.

I agree. I avoid them like the plague and always have but if another woman wants to wear high heels why should it matter?

I'm a guy, so it's things like a backwards baseball cap and cut-offs.
