| I don't like it as much as I like Veronica or Vanessa, but it's not AWFUL and I wouldn't whisper "I'm so sorry" to your daughter when you weren't looking. |

I like it. It wasn't my taste, but it's grown on me in the last 30 seconds.
BTW, for my generation, I have a name that is just like this--not usual but not weird. I was the only one in my class; I've met about four others in my life, but everyone's heard my name and it is not weird. It's nice to have a name like this. |

Great name I Love it! I admit I'm a bit partial since it's my own name
|
I love it. Agree with others that it's not trendy, not too popular, not from pre-WWI era
But I have a feeling you are on the front end of bringing back names from that era. Be a trailblazer! |
| I think it's fine. |
| one of my favorites! |
My own wonderful Mom is Valerie (usually called Val). So, I approve.

| LOVE IT!!!!! |
| I like it. The old Monkee song (my dad listened to it when I was a kid!) Valerie is in my head now. |
OP here, thank you all for the feedback. It sounds like you all know some Valeries that span a variety of generations. I have a very common late 70s/early 80s name, and in the back of my mind I was also worried we'd sound like sisters instead of mother and daughter.

But it's not nearly as overused as Veronica or Vanessa, either. I like it "Valerie" is fun and down-to-earth. |
| If the part of the name you like is "Val" Valentine is also nice (unless your due in February) |
