Agreed. And I would add lots of outdoor play where they can run and jump and climb and use their imaginations. Learning to use their own bodies in climbing over and under things helps with the ability to picture three dimensional objects and their spatial relationships.
And really, a lot of kids spend entirely too much time indoors. It's healthier to be outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

Lots and lots of reading will help generally, but for the CogAT specifically, it won't be that helpful.
