OP here. The race went pretty well. I ran most of it but did have to walk some. I think the wind, hills, etc were too much for me, still finished in about 1:10 which tells me I also may have been running a little faster than normal for when I did run (I am slow, usually 10:30-11 minute pace). I probably walked a total of a mile or so and ran the rest. The cold weather wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, except some spots with miserable wind. DS had fun with our friend.

We saw a few strollers, but I don't think anyone that was doing the 10k (it was the Vienna turkey trot - there was a 5k as well).

Feeling pretty good about getting out there! Thanks for the suggestions and support.

10:30--11min is not slow. I'd be happy to do that.
