No heartbeat at 8 weeks

OP, nothing to add except to say that even though it feels like you're alone in your journey, there are many of us that have been in your position that are rooting for you and thinking good thoughts for you. As a pp said, nothing wrong with holding on to a little bit of hope if it helps you. Good luck tomorrow .

Well said, big hugs to you! Fingers crossed.

OP - sorry to hear this. I've been there -- at 7 weeks and at 12 weeks. You can ask them to check again for the heartbeat just to make sure when you go in for the D&C. I did (and of course there wasn't any). And I second the recommendation to send out the "products of conception" as they call it, for genetic testing. It helps figure out what the problem is.

OP, when I had my D&C from my last miscarriage, it was required to have a confirmatory ultrasound beforehand, just to check to see if there was a mistake.

I am almost at the end of my ability to tolerate this too--the losses, the cancelled cycles, the disappointments--but then I read about others who have been through more and have their babies.

Know that you are not alone, and I agree with a previous poster, cry your eyes out. Whenever you are at home alone and you want to. Studies have shown that grief tears are chemically different from other tears. Makes me think that we truly need them to get through grief.

Ignore this idiot. Once you LOSE heartbeat, it's gone. If you never had one in the first place, there's a chance that your dates were off and one can "miraculously" appear - but a heartbeat at 6 and 7 weeks, and none at 8, is a done deal. Mine were heartbeats at 7 and 8 weeks, then none at 10.

I am so so sorry OP.

I am so sorry, OP. I had a D&C this past tuesday for no HB at 7 week scan (confirmed again at 8 week scan). Just know you aren't alone and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

I am so sorry OP. I went through the same thing in September. I saw the heartbeat at week 6 and 8 and it was gone at 9. as soon as I saw the ultrasound screen and saw no fluttering, I knew. I also had a d&c a couple of days later. take care.

I also got an autopsy. it was trisomy 14.
