Shoes: What are flats equivalents in the winter?

PP here again...check out Seychellles too!

17:13 here. I'm wearing my Clark's knee high boots and I must say that they are fabulous. My husband loves them! I'd also like to inform that I have about 10 pairs of Dansko sandals -- all very fashionable. I value fashion, but I also value my feet and my spine. Be careful out there . . .

I also recommend Franco Sarto, some Sofft shoes are cute (not all), and there are some really nice low heeled Bandolino short boots that look great with pants.

Hurrah for 11:58!! I can't believe posters are responding to a request for *fashion* advice with Dansko clogs and Clarks! No shortage of sharp low-heeled boots this season. I'd wear 'em myself if I were taller, but I need my 3-inch heels to keep my trouser hems off the floor!

Why don't you hem your trousers, you little cutie? Then a whole world of sharp shoes would open up for you.

(Got Ralph Lauren ones from Zappos.) They look so good with everything, especially dresses. I love them even more than regular flats.

Bonus - I feel like a bad ass in them!

Everyone in NYC was wearing them when I was there two weeks ago. I bought a pair too.

They look great with dresses, but even better with black legging and long sweaters (yes, this look is back in FULL force in NY, therefore look for it here in DC NEXT year).

True, but my legs would look a lot shorter- both the heels and the extra trouser length offer helpful illusions in that department! I'll leave the (hopefully actually fashionable) flats to you leggier DCUM fashionistas.

To my friend with the Communista Clarks... enjoy your comfortable shoes.

Hey listen, every lady who has to go to a park everyday MUST have some Clark-like shoes and some cute shoes. It just must me. OP, find something cute and something comfy and spend the money on BOTH. You will have them forever and be glad.

What do you mean "Communista"? BTW, I've gotten nothing but compliments on them today.

I'd also like to add that if you go back to that link and read the customer reviews, you will see that several women from several cosmopolitan areas think these boots are fab!

Shoes you have "forever" are, by definition, unfashionable.

I've said my piece about the Clarks, stand by my opinion that "fabulous" is a title best conferred sparingly, and insist that "fashionable" is set by major international fashion houses-- not your husband or anyone else in Washington, for that matter. I really don't wish to insult you further. Let's agree to disagree. You'll have the satisfaction that once my well-proportioned heels and your tree stump ones are removed, it'll be apparent to all that you've taken better care of your feet. And I'll have gotten three inches + a small platform shorter.

KISS MY BOOTS!

You are really a bitch. And BTW, those reviews were not limited to Washington. They included two from New York and one from Boston.

I hope you get bunions.

Shoes you have forever are NOT unfashionable, unless you are buying them at H & M. Classic riding boots, heels, etc. ARE forever shoes. You should know that now as an adult. Unless you are dressed in head to toe H & M.

Are you the same bitch that I wished bunions on, or a separate bitch?
Anonymous
No, I am the PP responding to the person who said that shoes that are forever are unfashionable. I guess I am a different bitch...I mean, a separate bitch. Either way, I was not responding to you, although the anonymous nature of this site can make that difficult to discern. But thank you, I had not been called a bitch today!
