Favorite primal (or paleo) recipes?

As someone who is prediabetic and is friends with someone with Type I diabetes, and someone who did strict paleo for a while, I think it's silly for normal people to eat like diabetic people (aka, low carb or zero carb, which is not mandated by paleo but is still a very large part of it) when there's no medical need for it. That's what I personally think is wrong with it.

You're still getting carbs, just not from processed sources. Fruits and vegetables have carbs. Quinoa has carbs. Nuts and seeds have carbs.

Second the spaghetti squash in place of pasta -- also alternative crusts for pizza and quiche. I have been making a lot of bone broth and using it in soups.

I'm all for cutting down on refined carbs, but to imply anyone is eating paleo or primal is absurd. How many of you are eating reindeer, wild turkey, rabbit, and snakes? You do realize that cows and chicken are DOMESTIC animals?

For vegetables you would have to basically be digging in the ground for roots and if you got lucky you would find a few berries. Most all of what we eat has been designed by humans for a relatively new concept, which is farming. Very interesting on how the word primal paleo are grossly misused.

I like the Paleo Parent website and Mark's Daily Apple.

Last night I pan sauteed chicken thighs in lard, added paprika and served over steamed broccoli. 10 minute dinner. We had roasted carrots (because it takes hours to get them to almost burnt like we prefer them) while we watched tv after DS had gone to bed.

I don't paleo-ize treats, I don't cook with honey or other sweetners. I eat veggies, some fruits, high quality fats and meats.

The Whole 30 changed my life. I had no idea that sugar was making me a raging bitch. Take away the sugar and I'm not angry anymore.

I feel good eating this way.

I really like the Hot Plates of Joulwan's Well Fed cookbook. I'm incompetent when it comes to choosing spices and she has long lists of possible combos of meat, veg, and spices, all categorized under cuisine. All are quick-cooking (basically variations on a stirfry using spices instead of sauces) and taste amazing.

I'm not one for paleo cookbooks - the Internet has plenty of paleo recipes - but this one is my absolute favorite for simplicity, ease of preparation. There's a Well Fed II now as well but I haven't checked it out yet.

No one is debating the merits, but no one is eating "paleo" or "primal".

Also, the world is huge. If you are eating "primal" for north America, what are you eating? Buffalo, Chantrel Mushrooms, rattle snakes, cactus, prickly pear, rabbit, turtle, and chestnuts?

Are you all eating Southwest Primal, Coastal California Primal, Northeast Primal, or are you feasting on the tender roots of the prairie grasses and buffalo balls?

I think you are taking this way too literally. I don't think anyone who is doing it is under the impression that they are eating exactly as "our ancestors" did, and further, localized to the area that they live in. You need a paleo chill pill.
