Favorite primal (or paleo) recipes?

Anonymous
I am looking for some new Primal (or paleo, since they are pretty similar) recipes. So far we have been mostly modifying our usual routines -- for example, taco salads instead of tacos with shells or tortillas; stir fry with no rice; meatballs or marinara with meat over bell peppers instead of pasta.

Looking for some new recipes though. What are some of your favorites? Are there any primal cooking blogs you would recommend?

Check out nomnompaleo or theclothesmakethegirl if you haven't already. Making "noodles" out of zucchini or other veggies, or "rice" out of cauliflower are nice subs for traditional rices and pastas. Lots of chilis/stews/soups will be good for this time of year and can be very paleo/primal friendly. Those blogs will have a lot of ideas. GL.

That's great, but I don't see a recipe there.

Well, it's more of a preparation method than a recipe. Go kill something. Proceed as directed.

That clarifies it. Very helpful. Thank you.

If you eat cheese I recommend this cauliflower crust pizza:

I second the recommendation for nonnompaleo! I like the zucchini noodles and sweet potato has recipes.

I love spaghetti squash! Mix with a meat and tomato sauce. So satisfying.

Absolutely. I mean, if you're going to say you're eating paleo, eat paleo.

I know people like to joke about it (and it is a ridiculous comparison, really), but what's wrong with trying to eat healthy? Good proteins, vegetables, fruit, nuts, even cheese in moderation -- just very little processed carbs. Can't really argue that that is a bad thing.

Get cut of steak. Pan fry on each side in 5 tablespoons of butter for 30 seconds. Eat.

I think people joke because of the label of paleo/primal--we are eating like our caveman ancestors! Here's my honey sweetened almond flour muffin! And my pomegranate glazed pork loin. It's not *really* how our ancestors ate.

Also the insistence that some foods that could be otherwise healthy for someone else (quinoa, black beans) are terrible for us because a million years ago we didn't eat quinoa. Well, we didn't eat coconut oil chocolate mint bon bons either, but there are paleo recipes for that.

Signed...someone who did the whole 30 to a tee and didn't feel all the wonderful results other people do. I certainly thin being paleo can be hugely beneficial to some, but certainly not all people in the world.
