Middle school social changes...need advice for 7th grade boy

I keep reminding my 11 year old that middle school sucks and it's only going to get worse till he leaves for college. (followed up by some, we love you and it's get's better)

I am glad to hear that we all struggle with this. Some wise parents here.

We are trying to make sure that my son has friends outside of school. right now they are via a sport he plays and boy scouts (although we found a good troop - I know there is a troop near our home that hazes boys, and has bulling issues - so I would research strongly).

I wouldn't worry if your boy doesn't find penis jokes funny. Mine don't either. I like to think it's because we have healthy body images in our house. We've always used the word penis - as in did you wash your penis? Aim your penis, (or wash the missed spots). Only play with your penis when you would pick your nose (it's a private time thing). I had no clue I would reference the penis the way I reference shoes tossed on the ground. And of course you can't do scripture study without talking about the foreskin!
