she's had moderate success as a producer and film financier....however with her background, she already started on 2nd/3rd base regarding that.

I don't think there is anyone in Hollywood who's bloodlines are richer than hers.

Is she an actress or a horse? How rich is a long line of boozers/substance abusers?

Are you kiding? The Barrymores? First family of Hollywood.

Also, her Godparents are Steven Spielberg and Sophia Loren.

Yes, lots of drug/alcohol abuse in her lineage. Even she ended up in rehab by age 12.

I'm very glad she didn't end up dead like a lot of child stars, however, the alcohol/drugs definitely shaved off a few IQ points during those formative years.

Also, if you see her in interviews like on The Actor's Studio, she doesn't acknowledge at all that who she is had any influence in getting her to where she is. Please, if she wasn't Spielberg's Godchild, she wouldn't have been in ET, Firestarter, etc. She was a cute kid but not exactly an acting prodigy.

"And by the way, there's a name for you ladies, but it isn't used in high society -- outside of a kennel."

great film shown tonight...if you haven't seen it, it is a mustwatch.

"The Women" (1939)

norma shearer, joan Crawford, joan fontaine, Rosalind Russell

razor sharp dialogue and think it would be very well received by the majority that post on here.

I doubt it. Many posters are mean but not all that deep. Not sure what this has to do with Drew Barrymore. There are much nastier posts on here, e.g., read the Beauvoir posts. Meow.

It's one of my favorite movies of all time. Clare Booth Luce (who wrote the original play) is genius. I love The Essentials on TCM. However, I agree with OP regarding Drew Barrymore. It's almost as if they had to rehearse the dialogue/conversation before and after the show. She just sounds like an idiot.

Godparents are not "bloodline"...

I thought I was the only one who despises the manner in which Drew Barrymore conducts herself as a guest programmer with Robert Osborne. She sounds unintelligent,
and her grandparents, John and Lionel Barrymore would turn over in their graves at how she has sullied their great name
with her sleazy, lesbianism, and wild conduct. When she was small, you could see her inherited acting ability. But since she has been grown, she has done nothing but ruin the family legacy. She is incompetent on the show and does not seem to know anything. Everything is "I, and I, and I love this, and I think this and that." She brings nothing to the table and when she is own the show, I cringe and switch channels. Get her off of their before she ruins the whole show.

I can speak normally but I do a really good DB impression. For some reason I can do her sideways mouth turn, lisp and cadence of her speech really well. I use words like "magical" and "amazing" and it kills every time.

One of my favorite films of all time. Based on a play written by a Congresswoman, Clare Booth Luce. Love, love, love this movie.

Just watch Drew barry More show interviewing Hilary Duff yuck what a foolish sounding valley girl over acts and that mouth drives me crazy it's all crooked and she has nothing interesting to say I find her a boring piece of crap. If she didn't have connections she would have never made it gag me with a spoon will ya....

Clearly you aren’t aware of her family’s dominance of Hollywood and theatre going back all the way to the 1800s. John Barrymore? Ethel Barrymore? Lionel Barrymore?

The Santa Clarita Diet was fun. She seemed pretty self-aware in that one. Same with the Charlie's Angels franchise.

She has a good production partner and has done well for herself. We may not understand her choices, but can't deny the success she's had.
