This is not limited to Occidental, but several law schools (including Columbia and Penn) accept students after three years of undergrad - it is called a 3+3 program; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accelerated_JD_program#List_of_3.2B3_accelerated_JD_programs |

This program existed (3+3) even when I attended Oxy many decades ago. I don't know anyone about how it came to be but at the time I thought it was Columbia's way of scooping up the best and the brightest a year before the other law schools. I turned it down to finish my last year at Oxy, then a gap year to make money, then Harvard Law.

If true, this would be about the stupidest thing I've heard in a while: herd more sheep to law school at an even younger age. --Columbia grad. |
