| Potomac doesn't give homework, other than reading (independently or with a parent) every night. |

Another vote for Washington Waldorf. We've been there five years (one boy, one girl) and have found the amount of homework very reasonable. There's a great belief in the role of play and developing the imagination (especially outside) and a welcome de-emphasis on technology. They do give out financial aid.

| Potomac School. We read every night and do the occasional small project. |
| Sidwell Friends has a policy of no homework until middle school; we love it! |
A "better" environment? This is what is wrong with the is country. Coddling children….helicopter parents….lowering the bar…. No wonder science, math and engineering majors are dwindling…. Its not a better environment - its an easier less challenging one you are looking for so you can watch your highly educated child have no drive …. Thanks for dummying down our country... |

We're at the Waldorf School and besides absolutely loving what their educational experience is at WWS, we LOVE the delayed and limited homework. My 5th grader only has a very modest amount of work.
The homework levels that many of the above schools start in 3rd grade don't reach that point until 6th grade at WWS. My 8th grader is very busy but I really appreciated that she never had this level of work in the lower grades. |
| At SSSAS tour I was told that there is no homework JK-2nd grade. |

| what is the homework situation at Primary Day? |
Ok - heres the situation - my parents went away for a weeks vacation and they left the keys to the brand new Porsche…. |
I think you might be confused. I helped my Sidwell lower school kids with their homework tonight. It's extremely low key and ungraded, but it's definitely homework. They get excited because it makes them feel grown up. About 10-15 min/night through 2nd grade, and 20-30 min/night after that, depending on how seriously your child takes it. |
