Just FYI, some of us like living in 20877 also. Can't say for sure how the schools are cause we're in private, but we'd be in private regardless of where we lived, even in a "W" cluster. Our neighborhood is quiet, safe, has multiple parks within walking distance, and every amenity I could possibly imagine within a 15-20 minute drive. |

Look in North Potomac, Darnestown and Kentlands.
We live close to those and our friends live in those communities and love it. There are so many ammenities close to those areas. Hiking, kayaking, boating, pools, all kinds of sports for the kids, lot of restaurants (Cave, Michaels Noodles, Sabai Sabai Simply Thai, Vasillas, to name a few of my favorites... ) The soccer plex has tennis, indoor pool, indoor soccer, driving range, castle park, etc. Good luck on your search. |
| PP here who posted about looking into 20878. Thanks for all the info! |

Realtor here...As noted, many buyers do prefer the Wootton district but only a small percentage of the Gaithersburg homes fall into that district and they sell for a higher price per square foot.
Gaithersburg covers a vast area. If you want more land, you may want to look towards the Darnestown side of Gaithersburg or the 20882 area out towards Laytonsville. If being close in to shopping and restaurants is a priority, the Kentlands area may be ideal. Quince Orchard schools are well thought of and Gaithersburg HS gets a bad rap but graduates I know from gaithersburg love it. Make a list of what's important to you and sit what fits your budget. |
| Laytonsville is in Gaithetsburg high cluster, but I know of at least 1 teen that attends Damascus. |
