If demographic groups that have not done as well in school start doing better in school, that seems like a good outcome (for everybody!) to me.

Me too! But some people operate on the teeter-totter system of life, if others go up -- that means they going down!

My sister-in-law, who lives in a southern red state that historically is not known for its excellent education, is fuming about Common Core. She says the kids aren't learning things "when they're supposed to be learning them" but I'm not even sure how she's qualified to assess that. Really, I think it's because she just doesn't like Obama, lol.
