| You've been doing this for 3 months? No wonder her core hasn't developed properly. Top indulging her. Get an evaluation and help her develop her muscles.. |
| Eh, I wouldn't freak too much about ei. Your kid probably can't sit because she never sits. Just make her sit. My kid don't really roll over until crazy late (after he started crawling - I think it was 10 or 11 months.) He is fine, just not really physically motivated (similar to mom and dad!) |
That's exactly what I said. Why do I have the impression you're trying to start a fight here?

| she needs a push toy! |
Might be what you meant. Wasn't what you wrote. |

OP - Get your child evaluated. The crawling isn't the big deal (though there is increasing emphasis on crawling because it's believed to be linked to brain development that affects cognitive abilities). The not sitting up is a red flag.
The good thing about EI (and my DD worked with EI for a year) is that you are equipped with information and tools to address gross / fine motor development issues and most of these issues can be overcome if you know what to do to target them. |

We had our daughter evaluated since she was not sleeping and the development specialist said crawling is very important milestone. It is linked to eye-hand coordination, reading skills, handwriting, etc. Some kids who are not performing well in kindergarten who did not crawl are actually taught to crawl.
The woman was amazing- we saw her do a group q and a for parents and when parents described their child issue, she asked questions about writing their name, catching a ball, etc. and it all came back to crawling. I was shocked. The length of time s child crawls is not as important as them just doing it I'd just follow up with your pediatrician. Every child is different and some things take longer to develop. |
| Our friend's kid skipped crawling and was a very early walker. But, she tripped and fell a lot and eventually had to have physical therapy. The PT's hypothesis was that the not crawling led to balance issues. No cognitive problems as far as I know. |
There is no evidence on this. Look people, milestones are averages and not a diagnostic criteria. Just because your kid is an outlier on one milestone does not mean there is a problem (or conversely that your child is a genius). |

Those can both be true at the same time. One school of thought holds that not crawling is a huge missed milestone; many pediatricians (who are in the other school of thought) don't even consider crawling a developmental milestone. Congratulations! You agree with each other! |
| Ours did that. Cruised starting at 8 months, walking at 11. Never crawled - why crawl when walking is quicker. Gross motor skills at 2-3-4-5-6 are impressive. Try getting a walker for balance and see if that works. We ultimately bribed our daughter to walk by each holding phones and remotes and making her walk without help to get one. It worked. After that, I wished I had waited as walking really changes your life. |
NP here. She very clearly stated that not crawling is considered a problem by ONE SCHOOL OF THOUGHT. Either learn to read or drop the superior attitude. |
OP's baby does not cruise on her own, pull up, or even sit well unassisted. Finger walking only. Big difference. |
NP here. Ha! We have spent so much time keeping these away -- great idea.
