Will the maxi dress go out of style for next summer? Want to buy a sale item

I think skimming the floor is best, but not dragging. FWIW, I agree that you shouldn't wear flats w/ a maxi - the styles don't really fit together. I think maxis + sandals is best.

As for the question about the time frame...I was planning on wearing mine through the fall with boots and a sweater. But I kinda don't care about the rules...

As for length...some brands make maxis in petite lengths. I have also had a maxi shortened at the straps, as too much of my bra was showing, and then I didn't need the hem itself done.

And I agree that maxis + flat sandals is the most common look. It is a casual outfit. Think pool party, BBQ, running errands, maybe brunch.

Like new to the planet earth?

We earthlings have created this cool search tool called "Google." Totally worth a try if you're new to existence.

I love this maxi dress--the bottom does not have a hem and so it would be okay to cut it alittle bit as it is only a little too long. very pretty though

Definitely lean towards shoes with a heel though. The cut of the maxi dress tends to make legs look shorter and thicker. Even if you're skinny, no one likes to have short-looking legs. A heel should help.

What? Maxis look great with flip flops and flats. You're not supposed to wear flats? Really? You are probably not very fashion forward. It has more to do with the style of the dress than a blanket statement.

Maxis will be out next year (or maybe the year after). My sister lives in Europe and she says NOBODY wears them there anymore.

My DH calls the Maxi dress the "modern mumu". He hates them. I love my Maxi dresses and am not worried if they will be in style or not. Personally, I think the rules of fashion have been out the window for quite some time. Only old people are worried about such matters.

Just stay away from pants with pleats, and shoulder pads and I think you will be OK.

Did you really accuse someone who doesn't wear flip-flops of NOT being fashion-forward? LOL.

Like all of Europe? She lives in all of Europe?

The maxi dress was never popular in Holland.
