Would you buy the JonBenet house?

It looks like an apartment building from outside, very nice kitchen though.

Would you happen to have a link to the crime? I don't recall this one.

The former Ramsey home seems over priced.

Not in regards to this issue, no.

The wife completely remodeled the basement before it went to market. They got it for about 30 percent under market. They plan on living there for at least 25 years so they dont worry about the resale. To be honest its a GREAT house but I dont think I could do it.

Oh I bet you're talking about the CFO of Freddie Mac. Beautiful house and I considered it but was just too sad thinking about him to buy it.

in short, old owner was killed inside the house with his 9 yr daughter by an intruder. new owner bought the house, and was also murdered inside the house by would be robbers (I think he got in contact with them on Craigslist or something similar). house was on the market for a long time, and its address was changed (somehow it got a different street number) before it eventually sold for less than market value. both crimes got a lot of press, with descriptions of where in the house all the victims were shot and died. two owners in a row murdered inside the house, kind of tough house to sell IMO

Right, but the new owner found out of the murders after he was under contract and wanted out and he couldn't get out of the contract, right? Then he got murdered too.

I fill up for gas at the gas station next door all the time, I have to remember to peek around that corner.

I commented yesterday on a thread about NY/CT towns to live in because I find it stupid that someone wouldn't move to Newtown because of the school shooting. Why eliminate an entire town because of the murders? But when it came to a specific house, I couldn't do it. I saw a great condo in DC years ago and found out the owner died in the house - not murdered, just died, and there were pictures of him all over and I'd just never be able to do it. My parents thought I was nuts but I'd have to live there and I would never be able to get that creepy feeling out of my mind.

That said, I have good friends who did buy a house in Maryland where someone was murdered and I was weirded out going over there.

Did they ever find out who did it? Not the mom or brother. What was the motive? Was it somehow related to her pagentry career?

They used to come into a restaurant where I worked and I waited on them several times before Patsy died, about 2 years after Jon Benet was killed. I never did think any of them acted normal. I don't know what one acts like 2 years post world-famous murder of one of your family members but it wasn't like them. They always acted like they just came from a party and were heading to another one.

That said, I'm pretty sure it was the mom or the brother.

I think it was the brother b/c Patsy definitely tried to cover up the murder with the note. I know they found micro DNA on JB's underwear, but it easy to cross contaminate almost anything. The family was totally f'd up anyway.

I did it!!! We ended up at the gas station today by accident and I said, "hey the murder house is next door." While we were filling up I told my husband and son about it, it's actually right on the other side of the fence at Exxon. I'm actually shocked that not one but two murders would occur at a house so close to Georgia Ave which is so highly trafficked. (trafficked? Is that a word? doesn't sound like it.)
