But you'd only be picking the cello player up, and the other two could take their normal way home.

Maybe she has more than one cello player in her house.

Where are you guys going to school where the busses have enough room for the kids to bring cellos?

My kid's school bus has smaller kids sitting 3 to a seat.

Fcps needs to reallocate one of your busses over to the more crowded bus routes if there are school bus routes with enough rom for cellos.

I am this poster. Let me clarify-- 2 kids at two different elementary schools (one center, one neighborhood), and one in preschool. The three buses come within 15 minutes of one another, so doing kiss-n-ride for my cello player would mean leaving my preschooler home alone to wait for her bus. Not that it really should matter in this thread. The only pertinent fact is that my child has never had a problem taking his cello on the bus. I hope that piece of information is useful to the OP.

Not for cellos and basses. Students rent a school cello/bass for the year and only have to bring their instrument for afterschool practices and concerts.

Thank you for correcting this. After I posted, I thought it seemed wrong, and checked with my middle schooler, who told me the cellists and bassists have both school and home instruments.

As for buses with room for cellos, our base school buses are all too crowded for cellos, but the AAP center bus is half empty, luckily for us. I don't know if I'd encourage cello if I had to drive a kid. Bus is quicker for me.

That is funny. All our buses are crowded, base AND center, but the center buses are bursting at the seams.
