does attitude or positive thinking matter?

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but when I was TTC, I HATED when people told me to "just stay positive!" I agree with PP that it seems to be something said by people who have never experienced infertility and all the hope followed by crushing disappointment that can come with it. My doctors never told me to stay positive; they knew what I was up against. I also agree that thinking you should be staying positive is added pressure you just don't need. Let yourself feel how you feel, and do what works best for YOU.

This.
The same is true for more serious diseases, like cancer, despite popular psychobabble.

Not one bit.

Trust me, after 4 miscarriages I would have been delusional to think my 5th pregnancy would be a normal one. I was very stressed out the month I got pregnant with my now 6 month old. I really don't think it makes a difference either way.
