It'd be cool if you incorporate the "arrow" markers into your counter.

My husband's desk at home is reclaimed bowling alley wood. It is gorgeous. As for the "dirty balls" problem, it is not as though they don't refinish the wood first, which includes sanding it down.

I say go for it.

i want to see a picture of this

I love this idea! Where did you find it?

This is OP. The bowling alley lanes are at the Loading Dock in Baltimore. Check it out -- you can get a 12' piece for $43!!!

To follow up: I like the idea, but I don't think I will be doing it. From what I read, Bowling Alley lanes are hard to work with. They are very heavy (300 lbs) and difficult to cut because they consist of wood that has been nailed together again and again. So you have cut through wood and metal. Plus then you have to sand them down and coat them with a new surface (the "dirty balls" issue). Thanks for all the feedback!

OP check out the tables in the back of Whole Foods Friendship Heights, they are made of bowling lanes. If you like them, there's your answer.

I haven't bothered to read through all of these but friends of mine did this when they rehabbed a house. Done the right way, it can look awesome. Always a conversation piece.

Just remember, in case the installers make some mistakes to get a few spares.

Great idea. I love to see things used in a different way. I don't even bowl and I like it. I am just sick of the granite and marble.

So expensive. Like throwing money down the drain.

No, no...not down the drain, into the gutter.

With such a sturdy table, imagine how many Hambones will fit during Christmas.
