www.babysheets.com has basic styles that are also safety fitted sheets (e.g., they wrap all the way around the mattress and don't risk pulling off).
I also bought these AMAZING sheets from babycenter.com that are safety sheets with a zipper that removes the top layer...so you can easily remove/replace the top layer without removing the entire sheet from under the mattress. All come in basic colors. If you are looking for awesome safety sheets for a pack n play, the website mrbobblesblankets.com has nice soft flannel sheets that are so much better than the Graco scratchy ones. Great, especially, if you're using a pack n play in lieu of a bassinett. babysheets.com and mrbobblesblankets.com were both recommended in the baby bargains book, and i am very pleased with both. To me safety was more important than aesthestics. |
In retrospect, I realize that this is completely true! I bought one of the four-piece sets and realized after a while, that we didn't really use the bumper (took it off after a colleague's grandson died from SIDS), didn't use the quilt (can't use them for babies), and the sheet is not so nice. So... I ended up with a $200 crib skirt. If I were doing it over again, I would just buy a crib skirt that I really liked. Then, I would buy the really soft jersey sheets in matching colors from Carters (those are the ones DD liked best anyway). Definitely a lot cheaper. I have found that you can mix and match from many of the sets that have similar colors to come up with a more unique look. Right now, DD has a PBK bed skirt, curtains that matched the original crib set from Cocalo, pillows on chair are from Dwell by Target, and the sheets are the Carters ones. Looks much better than the original matchy-matchy set we had. |
I found a cute set at Buy Buy Baby, and just bought the valance, matching cribskirt and a couple wall decorations that matched. Bought some cheaper matching sheets and that was it.
For the eventual twin beds, I found a cute girl set at PBK and my son's cute set at Target. |
I just ordered some stuff from The Company Store online. They have cute, reasonably priced kids' stuff. |
Not to totally thread hijack, but we didn't buy bedding. Just use a fitted sheet on the bed and an Ultimate Crib sheet. DB is 6 mo, and it's worked great so far. |
Yeah. This. Waste of money and space. For baby #2, just using sheets and a generic crib skirt. Found plush sheets at BBB that I love and wish they made for a queen-sized bed! But for cute sheets, I love Garnet Hill. |
