That was my thought too.

How long was he expecting you to be gone for. If he thought you were gone for the day and he really thought he was truly alone in nature, then no reason really to go into a locked bathroom. When I am home alone, I leave the bathroom door open when I use it - I don't do that if others are home.

OP, your comment that he "does stupid, selfish things" indicates you may have other reasons to feel he's just "off" when it comes to being with your child. Add the masturbation incident to that and I say...go with your gut and don't let DD visit alone. If your mom asks why you won't let DD come alone, just brush it off with "She's a homebody and not really ready to do that alone yet --and it gives me a chance to see you too, mom!" or whatever. I would wager that telling your mom the real reason could make her very defensive or very upset, or both, and that is just not where it needs to go. Distract, change the topic, whatever you need to do, but I wouldn't send DD alone.

Did you tell your sister (or was it SIL?) with the teen boys about this? I would think she would be pretty grossed out as well. Sure, the boys do it themselves (as I'm sure some helpful person is likely to post) but the idea of seeing grandpa doing it right there in the vacation cabin doorway should gross out even the most earthy teenage boy....
