At least three, actually. |
I think Howard County sounds best for what they're looking for-have them look at Clarksville, Glenelg. |
expensive homes - especially in the River Hill cluster excellent schools, however! You get what you pay for. |
We moved for the schools - from SS to an area past Ashton. |
West Bethesda is not too urban and you can get large houses for $1.1-1.4m depending on age. Look on Redfin in Mohican hills, wood acres, bannockburn, kenwood hills, cabin john, etc. The community pool culture is great too.
They key to get one at $1.2m will be that it will probably be a 1980s or 1990s build, revisited. New builds go for more. |
Revisited = renovated. |
Nothing that's more than 4500 SF for less than $1.2M any closer than Potomac. I checked. |
Why anyone wants to live in a 4500 sq ft house is beyond me -- unless you're a family 10!! |
Potomac for 1.2???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHa |
There are several homes in that price range and under in 20854. Is that not Potomac? |
Kentlands
Here is a Potomac home in the price range I saw when running. http://www.trulia.com/property/3077761863-8016-Horseshoe-Ln-Potomac-MD-20854 |
Kentlands in Gaithersburg - 20878 |
Look at River Falls, close in Potomac.
When you get far out in Germantown and Gaithersburg, the school quality drops a little. |
There are three homes for sale in Potomac for under $1.2 million that are at least 4500 SF and on at least half an acre, Which is what I think OP's friend is looking for. When you remove those two qualifiers, there are 68 single-family homes for sale in Potomac for less than $1.2M. I think that PP is overestimating her neighborhood. |
