Did you drink during the 2WW?

Yep, and now my baby's all messed up, too.

Just kidding. My baby's fine. My mom drank while she was pregnant - like a beer a day during the first trimester - and I'm fine. I'm not too uptight about things like that. So I guess that's how I could "do that" to my baby. You probably ought to call child protective services.

O' judging one....I think you must have missed the point of the majority of posts. Most of us drank BEFORE we knew we were pregnant. Duh...read and think before casting stones!

If it was that easy to screw up a pregnancy the human race would have never survived

I drank, one drink at a time, throughout my 1st pregnancy, including the 2WW. I'm not even French

That child is now 5 and has been quite healthy, and recently scored in the 99th percentile on the IQ test for K.

puhlease. our mothers drank, smoked, ate non-pasteurized cheese and cured meat, leapt tall buildings in a single bound ... and we are all fine. a couple of drinks before you even confirm if you are pregnant is not going to harm your baby, and don't let anyone judge you for it!

That's a great idea! During my pregnancy I didn't drink for 5 months, but now I'm learning from you all. I'm having the strongest coffee available, cognac, martini, bottles of wine per week, one bottle of french champagne every saturday, scotch whisky from Ireland, german beer. Poor me, I have rough days and the only remedy for that is getting drank, but I know that's very smart of me. My baby is growing very healthy, and my doc is very proud of me.

i think 1 or 2 drinks should be completely fine. however, i drank way more than that during my 2ww, and then obsessed about it for months after i found out i was pregnant. to me it wasn't worth the worry, and next pregnancy I'll rethink things for that reason alone.

DON'T FEED THE TROLLS LADIES ...

if you don't know what that means, it means don't respond to these agitators, they are taking advantage of anonymous posting to stir up trouble. the kinds of people that like to make this kind of trouble on forums are called "trolls." don't feed the trolls means don't buy into their efforts to stir up trouble. these are people that have nothing better to do with their time.

I was in Paris for the first time during my first trimester and I could not pass up a glass of wine (or 2) with dinner while in Europe! DS turned out perfectly fine!

A little wine now and then will not hurt your baby. People need to just calm down. In fact, a very large study in the UK suggests a glass or two a week is BENEFICIAL to the baby. I'm not saying you should go out and drink wine with dinner if you don't feel comfortable doing so, but don't be self-righteous about it. The rest of us who do have a glass of wine every now and then are not harming our babies.

Didn't drink while conceiving as you desribe it or during the first trimester. But afterwards had one glass of red wine a week. OB said it was fine. SOmetimes had two closer to the end when I couldn't sleep.

To the puritan "how can you do this" crowd - do your research and talk to your OB. Mine said it was fine. The research doesn't say that there is any problem with a glass of wine here and there. Get off your high horse.
BTW, my baby was a 9.5 healthy as a horse child.
