At what age did your son stop growing? What about your daughter?

I stopped growing in my early 20s but have 'grown' 1/2 inch from doing yoga for a year. I'm 33.

That may be the norm but there are certainly outliers. I came home from Freshman year of college and went to my doctor for an annual check up. I had grown an inch Freshman year. The doctor was VERY surprised but said it wasn't unheard of.

Well of course there are outliers but it isn't the norm (late period at 17 and continue growing, women who end up being 6 ft. plus due to genetics, etc). And "growing" from yoga is well just better posture. You don't actually "grow" from practicing yoga.

These are all actual medical facts rather than anecdotal stories on the Internet.

Yep, you got it. My posture is way better!

I'm female. I finished growing at 14.

Stopped growing at 16 years and 5'9". That works out to be a little more than four years past menarche. My brother stopped growing at 19. I know because I asked my mom when my 11 year old son hit 5'7" how much longer he was going to be sprouting for.

My brother and I both grew an inch in college. He's 6'2". I'm 5'5". My sister is 5'8" and stopped in 7th grade.

Fwiw-I have one son who has been tall for his age and one on the smaller side. I'm thinking the smaller one may be a later grower too.

In 5th grade my two best friends and I were the tallest girls in the class at 5'3". One never grew any taller, I stopped growing at 5'8" in 8th grade, and the other topped out at 5'11" sometime in high school.

You are both dumb and a bitch.

Period started at almost 16 after "recovery" from an eating disorder. No growth from 13-16 during the lean years, then very little through high school. Grew almost two inched in the first two years of undergrad (~18-20).

Our pediatrician told us that girls gain 2-3" after menarche, but that growth may take a variable length of time. In general, a girl who gets her period later in her teens will end up taller. That is true in our experience (2 daughters).

My stepson, 15, is just NOW starting to grow. He hit 5'1 this summer and is finally just a bit taller than me. He was also very pleased to finally weigh 100 lbs. Tiny kid. I imagine he will not have a huge growth spurt like most of his peers did between 11-14, but will instead slowly grow a couple inches each year until he's about 18 and then will stop. My husband is 6'3 but given that my stepson is 5'1 at 15, I imagine he will top out somewhere around 5'9, maybe 5'10.

Me too! I was taller than all the boys in middle school, by high school I was far shorter.
