summer drinks (alcoholic)

Calimocho is red wine and coca cola. Add vodka if you're raging.

Sweet tea vodka and lemonade is easy and yummy. I only learned yesterday of this sweet tea flavored vodka. I plan on buying some when we get home from the beach so I can continue this drink the rest of the summer.

Op here. Tx for these great ideas. I may have to bring a portable liquor shelf to try all of them ... (or try some of them on my back deck once home).

I love to make a pitcher of Raspberry vodka with Newmans's limeade, top with seltzer. Cheers!

Gin, lemonade, ice, and either basil or mint (or both).
Don't just drop the herbs on top -- you can either put them in when you make the lemonade the night before, and let them infuse, or muddle them in the botom of your pitcher with a little lemonade before you add the rest of the lemonade, gin, and ice.)

It's kind of like a mojito, but lighter and lemonade-y. You can drink more of it before you pass out.

I just made that up, by the way. But I bet it would be good. I'm going to try it this weekend.

How about the classic Sea Breeze? Vodka, Cranberry and Grapefruit Juice. Get healthy while getting drunk.

A mimosa for brunch gets me in a beach mood. Or replace the oj with cranberry juice.

G & T or Dark & Stormy for me.

I forget the recipe but make Spritz. It's an Italian beverage originating in Venice and involves prosecco, white wine, and a few other things. Simple to make, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. Pretty sure I lived on them, wine, and absinthe during my semester abroad in college.

Been making this spritzer this summer:

Peach Moscato + few splashes of san pellegrino grapefruit soda...
tasty and refreshing and fruity!

Odd as it sounds, a whiskey smash has become my favorite summertime drink. You can see my favorite recipe and a video about how to make it at www.themoveablechef.com which also has other ideas about cooking on vacation. I think anything that features mint is a great drink for summer--the gin-gin mule is also fantastic!
