Why doesn't DC HAVE a 'Lab School' equivalent?

Why do we need a lab school when we have SIDWELL/MARET/GDS? Aren't they the BEST IN THE WORLD?!?!?!?! No more room at the top!

Since when? How would they be the best?
Do the kids become astranoughts? Invent the lightbulb? Find a cure for cancer, aids etc?

D.C. needs an alternative to the learning to read/write/do alegebrat by first grade. A program that focuses on what is the best method for kids to learn: through experience, cooperation, and play in the early elementary years.

Our kids went to the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center through K and I've always wished they had decided to continue as an elementary school and beyond.

Because Georgetown and GW professors live in the suburbs with good public schools.
