Where do you keep your emergency funds?

Money market fund. Though we make no money and it's not federally insured, we get a lower fee structure for our other mutual funds because of our total balance.

Well, all my new-to-the-USA Asian friends keep cash and gold in a box in the house. No kidding. Luckily their adult children trust the US banks and keep their money there.
