S/O What makes a woman high maintenance?

All you need to do is to read the incessant whining, complaints and craving for attention on DCUM and you'll know what is high maintenance.

But this is not typical of American women but more a subset which seems to exist in certain geographical areas. The DC metro area is one of those areas.

High maintenance people (and there are men like this) require constant affirmation and attention. They lack flexibility; everything has to be just the way they want it or they inflict their unhappiness on those around them. being with people like this is a lot of work. A low-maintenance person certainly has their dealbreakers and doesn't tolerate bad behavior, but they can roll with the punches, compromise, and take a backseat when it's time to let others shine.

Yeah, that's my DH to a tee - high maintenance. I am not. It wears me out.
