You said you were going to try to keep them. I don't get spending lots of money on furniture and bedding to match black curtains if you don't love them. Look at Smith & Noble. Plain Roman shades aren't expensive. |
No, upon seeing people's suggestions, I'm going to keep them. I don't have any furniture to begin with, so I don't mind buying things that coordinate with them as long as they don't look offensive to me. If they were clashing with furniture and bedding I already have, that would be another issue. I know Smith and Noble, there are 5 very large windows in this room, so it's going to be expensive to replace them. They also match nicely with the ceiling fan in the room, which I forgot about, which is also expensive. I definitely would not replace them with something like plantation shutters. |
| I'm an interior designer too and think those are decent looking. Would call them shades though. They're pretty contemporary, so keep lines clean. |
There is nothing about this room I would find relaxing. Nothing at all. |
| Those aren't blinds. They are roman shades. Black blinds would be hideous. Roman shades are doable. |
I'm the previous interior designer. I agree these aren't bad. But they are most definitely not blinds. Blinds would have been tacky in black. |

I like how they coordinated the beige and black in the picture you posted. I totally think you could make them work nicely.
Don't try to get overly matchy--they can be pretty neutral and classic like a black dress. |
