West Elm (owned by Pottery Barn) and CB2 (owned by Crate & Barrel) seem to be targeted to a younger, more urban market. The prices are often a little lower. |
Belfort. They have a huge selection. The only down side is you may have to wait for your furniture if they don't have it in stock. |
Awful, awful quality. Don't waste your money. Try Belfort. |
We got two pieces (a sofa and an armchair) from Macy's that were reasonably priced and have held up great through years of heavy use and two kids. Check them out. |
For accent furniture, Home Goods or TJ Maxx can have some cute and decently made things. |
+1 |
Agree that Craiglist is great! I've never had any luck with World Market. There stuff ends up being pretty crappy. I do like CB2. And I bought a small chest of drawers from Home Decorators(?) online. It's held up great. |
PP again - The website is www.homedecorators.com |
Yes do not even waste your time going in the store. UGH!! The cheap crap smell meets you at the door as soon as you walk in. |
Home Decorators is owned by Home Depot I believe. Online only but prices are reasonable bc like Ikea I think most furniture comes in a box. More traditional stuff and less modern than Ikea. |
No, no, no. They are the WORST! The worst quality and the WORST customer service. |
Go to North Carolina |
Creative Classics in Old Town has beautiful & high quality furniture. Pricey but just lovely. We initially bought our furniture from Ikea & replacing it one piece at a time from Creative Classics. Their furniture is also made in the U.S. |
All my JC Penney furniture is falling apart after 6 years. |
I'm the PP - also meant to say that the stuff I have from Ikea has lasted for 8+ years |
