How much do you spend a month for infant daycare in PG County?

When we were checking in late 2011, the rates that we found for 5 centers in the area ranged from $26K-$33K per year for 2 children. The lower end had sibling discounts, so it was more like $14-16K per year per child. All were in PG county (we live and work in northern PG County).

And our children entered daycare at 3.5 months and are currently 20.5 months.

Had no problem getting in, but then we are the BH center at the IRS facility in New Carrollton. They give preferences to employees and my spouse works there. At the time we entered, it was backed up and all 3 infant rooms (2 teachers, 6 children in each) were booked. But now they are 3-4 openings as so many infants have graduated to the toddler rooms and they have not filled all the spots. When we were there, there were waits for infants. Now there's a wait for toddlers.

For the most part, I didn't have to go on the wait list for infant care at centers in PG (Hyattsville, Riverdale, Greenbelt area). The one I was one moved quickly-- like in under a month. But these were not fed-associated centers. The federal ones had very long wait lists for non-fed employees.

I own an infant/toddler center in PG county and the rates are from $250-275 per week.
