There are several two-mom and two-dad families at Hearst. I honestly never even thought about it until reading this question. They are just like all the other parents as far as participation, visibility, etc.

I didn't really notice it, they are just families with kids going to school, dragging themselves to birthday parties smiling when we pass in the carpool line.

What about the private schools located in DC? Maret, STA, Sidwell, GDS.

Same at Eaton. We have always had all kinds of families, two moms, two dads, grandma/grandpa raising kids, single moms, single dads. no one ever thinks twice. That's all part of what is really great at our school.

There are definitely two mom/two dad families at Maret, Sidwell, and Janney. Maret does an outreach event for LGBT families every year- I see it advertised on the Chevy Chase List Serve. I would gather that GDS does as well but I don't happen to know any current families.

Agreed, this is DC...not VA. Same sex parents are a dime a dozen now.

Has anyone attended any outreach events for LGBT families at NCS/STA or do they offer any?

LAMB, never had any issues. the school is very inclusive.
