Cute new small house in mclean

You know this right, PP?

OP, buy what YOU like. There an awful lot of jealous people here who want you to feel pummeled as they are. Don't bother with them. They have their own problems, and are desperately looking for a target.

Just because they can't afford a nice house close in, they will be damned if you can. Ignore them like the plague to society that they are.

I don't think anyone is begrudging OP if she wants to buy this house. I think people are just objecting to her calling it small. It is a BIG NICE house and if OP wants it, she should buy it! I am the PP with the slightly smaller house that is too big and I don't feel "pummeled" a bit!

i expected to find something like this:

or this is more typical of the architecture (ramblers and splits, in the older part of mclean).

Agree that anything over 2000 sq ft can't really be called small, even in mclean.

And again, the claim that this is small by US standards? Stop. Just stop. You are making a fool of yourself with this nonsense.

I guess the standards for the middle class in the DC area are very low.

We make upper mid and always look at home this size, the other smaller homes would be something I would do fresh out of college or if I were single.

ah, yes, "the poors" are such a plague on society.

You're a real charmer.

So let me get this straight, if the house is 1.3 million but very small inside DC that's ok but if I am interested in a smaller new build in mclean it's massive? logic doesn't make sense, you can't compare your tiny city homes to mclean's larger average homes.

If OP had called it a "larger average home" in McLean, I don't think anyone would have batted an eye. She said "cute new small house."

I was expecting a cottage.

This is a smaller new home in McLean, do a search

Anonymous wrote:Agree. That is no small house. My house is slightly smaller than that and still way more than we need as a family of 4 with out of town relatives.

Also, did anyone else notice the address?!?! WASP lane? Almost like its describing the kind of buyer they want...

It's close to Hornet Ct. Guess you're not from McLean.

I live in the neighborhood, and am planning on tearing down my home in the next 2-3 years as well to build new on the lot. The whole neighborhood is becoming teardowns, albeit---slowly. Take a look at the sekas home that sold on Homeric ct. There's a real odd, but big home that they are building on pathfinder lane right now.

It's a great place to live b/c it's so walkable---wasp lane is really close to chain bridge park at the end of the street, a longer hike to giant, but easily doable. This neighborhood also is the lowest price mclean neighborhood that is close to the new metro-----hence the teardowns to some degree.

The builder---focal point homes has built a couple of houses in Vienna, and off of Westmoreland---nice homes at good prices--this is one of their smaller models---more costly, but more detail than NDI or ANV.

Guys, I'm pretty sure this is the same troll who posts these things all the time. Her mistreatment of the English language betrays her. And she always overreaches.

Lol, I guess it just depends what you're used to. Our 1000 sqft place is fine for now but we know once we have a kid it will start to feel cramped. Visited a house this weekend that was over 3000 sqft and it felt enormous! I turned to my husband and asked how on earth we would ever fill this place?! I felt a bit like Goldilocks- find me a 2000 sqft house that we can grow into and I'll be a happy camper!

I think Focal Point has built this exact same house elsewhere in McLean and in Falls Church/22043. So you wouldn't be getting anything very original, but it's about as inexpensive as new SFH construction in McLean goes these days, you'd be right across from a park, and they'll be bus service from Chain Bridge Road to the new Tysons/McLean metro station.

Calling it "small," of course, makes the entire thread seem trollish, since it's by no means a small house. People who want "small" in McLean buy older houses or condos/townhouses.

These focal point homes are nice but modest. No 2 story foyers and single door entrances
