Day trip for hiking

Patapsco Valley State Park has some easy but fun trails with interesting artifacts along the way. Depending on your physical fitness level, it would be great for entry level hiking.

I disagree, I think hiking can be flat. I think less than 3 miles is a walk, more than 5 is a hike. 3-5 is the gray zone, and it depends what you are wearing, your frame of mind etc. If it is raining, you are wearing patagonia stuff, and full of grim determination, 4 miles could be a hike.
