Good dog for 9-5 job people?

An adult dog. It's worth it to get a dog walker though, especially if your job is 9-5 PLUS commute. I work 8-5:30 but I'm gone from 7-6:30+ so the walker turned into a necessity.

I agree with the PPs that an adult rescue dog can work. We leave the house at 8:30 am and I am back home by 4:30 pm. Our adult dog (beagle/Basset mix) does fine as he sleeps much of the day.
