Maret and Sidwell admissions malarkey

It seems like who the parents are might be the variable?

Parents and siblings made the difference for several new students at Sidwell, I am told and believe.

Exactly. I have no dog in the race. My DC waitlisted at both and going on to another excellent school. I can tell you it was a tight year for both and everyone in process knows this. Smply put, what the heck are you talking about OP?

No, that never happens in admissions at any school. I'm shocked, shocked.

OP, get over it and move on.

Weird post... What does Op mean about "unsavory going on" and something about early admissions. None of these schools have early admissions except Beauvoir kids to STA and NCS.

There also could be a "fit" issue going on. There may be a reason the dc of whom we are aware is going where he is and it is really all for the best. These schools are not necessarily the "best" by a long stretch and that is fine and no sour grapes or anything like that. They are creating certain kind of communties and that seems pretty clear when you meet the families in those communities. It also seems ok to me.

Sidwell was definitely doing early admissions, and Maret too - our family applied to both way and heard back earlier than we applied anywhere else.

14:37 Earlier than other applicants at those schools (Maret and Sidwell)? That's what matters. No all schools notify the same day, so everyone hears from some schools before others.
