Yes, the number found eligible is @ 500 less this year. The pool was also smaller. There are over 2500 kids found eligible this year, so the eligibles isn't a tiny number. The criteria are harder and many who would have had higher numbers on the old cogat have lower fat score. they did this on purpose.
The rules from last years admissions don't apply this year. |

| Did they say how many 2nd graders or is that 2500 across all grades? |
all grades |
| So probably it's 17-18 % of all 2nd graders eligible assuming that a couple hundred of the 2500 are other grades. |
Historically the pool + referred number is made up of about 1/2 2nd graders and 1/2 all other grades. |
| Really? That's the first time I've heard that, and I always assumed that the vast majority of screened students were second graders. Not doubting you, but would love to read your source. Thanks. |
Carol Horn at last Tuesday's AAPAC meeting. She has said this on earlier occasions as well, but I honestly cannot recall the exact meeting dates/years. ~AAPAC member |
| If so then, maybe the percentage of 2nd graders eligible out of 13,000 is closer to 10-15% (not 20%) then which seems like a more reasonable number all together. |
| That sounds about right. And thank you AAPAC member for filling in the blanks. |
pool + referred has 1/2 2nd graders and 1/2 all other grades doesn't mean found eligible is 1/2 2nd graders and 1/2 all other grades |

The number of students that are screened each spring is comprised roughly 1/2 of 2nd grade students and 1/2 of all other grades. Of the students that are screened, roughly 60% are found center eligible.
Is that a better description for you, 00:40? |
Can you take it further? Of the students deemed center-eligible, what percentage is 2nd graders and what percentage is other grades? Does it change significantly the higher up in grade you go? Did you explain this already and I missed it? Thx! |
| Based on my observation during the orientation. half 2nd grader and half all the rest seem right. |
