Why else would a parent be interacting with a principal to the point where there is a run-in?

What a terrible, horrible, untrue thing to say. A principal serves the community and a school. You have many reasons to interact with a principal of a school.

Back then the principal was not good (my mom had many run in's with him). There were a few good teachers that I can remember (I was only there for 3 years--transferred in from a private). One teacher told my mom my sister was retarded and could not learn (she had learning disabilities they would not address at the school back then). My parents pulled my sister from the school. I remember my mom saying that they would have moved if they could have afforded to to get us into Cold Spring, Fallsmead or Lakewood.

I don't the ritchie park has ever had a male principal.

Are you that familiar with Ritchie Park ES that you can name all the principals from the past 20+ years? OP is talking about when SHE was a kid.

All three of my kids went to cold spring, and are now at cabin john middle and wootton high. We are very happy with the schools; we have friends at beverly farms and at falls, ead. Fallsmead kids go to frost middle; their parents do not seem as happy with the level of teaching as we are with cabin john. Beverly farms is hoover and churchill cluster, all great. My daughter is graduating wootton this year and heading to nyu with lots of ap credits and feeling very well prepared for college.
