Establishing bad sleep habits early on?

Agree- find a new ped! That goes against everything I've heard, read, etc about newborns, as well as my own experience.

Agreed. I would find a new ped or at the very least, stop asking him/her for parenting advice and only medical stuff!

That's nuts. My dad is a pediatrician (and a grandparent, obviously!) and he was the one who drilled "you can't spoil a baby" into my head. He basically said that for the first 3 months or so, the baby is boss, and you should do whatever she needs.

This is obviously a topic with many opinions. My DD is 4 months old. Won't sleep unless held or moving in car or stroller. I regret holding her so much as the transition to having her sleep easily in her crib during the day (is fine at night) has been a nightmare so far. Maybe try what others are saying about 8-10 weeks.
