Wow, thought gov't jobs were supposed to be decent and full of benefits, even though I don't think of a lunch break as a benefit but just something that is part of a job. |
I could have a lunch break if I wanted. I just don't want it. |
So you can go home earlier? |
Do they just have a chicken wrap or something? |
lol this is all bullshit |
Yes. To minimize commute time and spend more time with family. |
My husband works from 6:30 am to about 5:15 pm M-F and usually eats lunch at his desk. He's a GS 15. |
We are required to take a lunch break. |
Official hours are 9:00 - 6:00. I often work until 7, and if there are work related social functions - usually 2-3 days per week - I get home around 10 pm. When we have VIP visits I can work weekends, usually 2 -3 times per year. I work at the State Dept. GS-13 equivalent.

Why would he work so long for so little? |
8-5:30 with every other Monday off. |
7:30 or 8:00 to usually 6:00 or 6:30. State, GS 13 equivalent. My husband is the same but works more like 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM, sometimes until 9:00. No overtime. |
