Ergo Carrier

My son just passed 20 pounds last month, but we're still using it comfortably. Like several others, I have the Moby too, and while I *can* still use it on short trips, the Ergo is more comfortable long-term...

The best part about the ERGO is that it puts the weight of your child mostly on your hips and away from your back. I have two arthritic vertebrae and it's the ONLY carrier that I can use. The Bjorn gave me a horrible backache from the moment I used it (even when DD was under 10 pounds). Now that she's 20 pounds, I'm able to carry her pretty much pain-free in the ERGO and am looking forward to trying her on my back, which should be even more comfortable. As all of the previous posters have said, the ERGO is the best money I've ever spent!

I agree, start w/sling or Moby and move to the Ergo when the baby has good head control. A friend of mine bought the "infant insert" for the Ergo and hated it, even though she loves and still uses the Ergo by itself.

yep...the ergo for infants isn't so great....we bought the insert and really never used it (will sell it if we ever get our act together)...wish we'd started with a sling! but, once my son hit about 11 pounds, at age 5 months (he's small), we used the Ergo regularly...he's about 18 pounds now and i still use it (front position). it's the best!

get it now and don't worry about wasting money. Ergos have very high re-sale value!!
